If things are a bit quiet with enquiries or sales on the website front, here’s 5 things you can do right now to increase your website’s conversion rate to sales (or leads), without spending any money. My goal whenever I post is to provide practical advice to improve your website engagement that you don’t need a computer degree to do!
1. Update your testimonials
Even if you already have customer reviews on your website, I bet you five bucks you’ve got new ones that aren’t published on your website. Sprinkle testimonials across your site – your about page and contact page as well as your homepage are good spots.
2. Add a live chat
If you’re quiet, you’ve got time to nurture those lovely people that ARE on your website. It’s a great way to provide personalised advice and let your customers get to know the person behind the screen. There are plenty of free chat widgets.
3. FAQ me
Well not me, your customers. Put together a brief FAQ page that has all the commonly asked Q & As you receive. Aim to remove all the objections they might have about taking the next step with you. FAQs can deliver a lot of info without overwhelming the viewer with too much text.
4. Say Cheese!
Update those photos! If you haven’t got a photo of your fine self on your about page, add one.
5. Check your contact forms are getting through
Fill in your website forms as if you’re a customer and make sure you are actually receiving enquiries. Unfortunately, it’s very common for website forms to be flagged as spam – use my guide on how to ensure you don’t miss enquiries.
