I’ve just changed over a client from Mailchimp to Flodesk and while I’m a big Mailchimp fan, and still believe it offers one of the best options around for eCommerce businesses, I really love Flodesk for service-based businesses.

PROS:

• Utterly gorgeous drag and drop templates and you can use custom fonts and image collages

• One low monthly flat rate no matter how many subscribers you have – finally an email app that doesn’t penalise you for growing your email list!
  
• Forget tagging confusion – Flodesk has an automated tagging system that’s so easy to use and actually makes sense.

• Super simple automations – no excuses not to get your Welcome, nurture and win-back series started

CONS:

At the moment it’s relatively new and the eCommerce integration is email only. This means you can’t send based on purchase activity but I believe it’s only a matter of time it’ll have eCommerce functionality to match Mailchimp.

So if you’re an eCommerce biz that’s not using purchase based triggers then you may want to check out Flodesk too.
